چکیده

Waste heat recovery along with low-grade energy can be utilized for numerous applications in our daily life. This manuscript presents a novel idea of utilizing the waste from domestic cooking devices assisting solar desalination system through simulation and validated experimentally. To assess potential 2D axisymmetric model water jacket has made using ANSYS Fluent while applying user-defined function (UDF) to outermost wall cookstove having temperature as high 340 °C during operation. Further, ensure heat, without affecting performance cookstove, an air gap 0.05 cm was provided between combustion chamber jacket. The efficiency original found ~ 33%, which enhanced up 43.79% flow jacket, finally reached 56% when flows indicates that arrangement used this particular study not only recovered but also improved overall by 69.34%, disturbing phenomenon.

Investigation on a scroll expander for waste heat recovery on internal combustion engines

In the present article, a model of scroll expander will be introduced. This model is able to evaluate the performance of a given machine with influence of the geometry. Several losses are also included by the model such as internal leakages, heat transfers or mechanical losses. The forces generated by the gas pressure on the involutes can also be calculated. That expander model is used in order...

Energy Savings Potential through Waste Heat Recovery from Flue Gas for Post Combustion Co2 Capture

Flue gas from a plant using fossil fuels contains CO2. Thus power/process plants using fossil fuels contribute to climate change if CO2 in flue gas is not captured. The process of CO2 capture from flue gas is called „postcombustion‟ CO2 capture. Existing plants may be retrofitted with this process to minimize CO2 emission. Amine solutions are mostly used for this process to scrub the flue gas. ...

Increasing waste heat recovery from an internal combustion engine by a dual-loop non-organic Rankine Cycle

This research proposes the combination of a dual-loop non-organic Rankine cycle (DNORC) with an internal combustion engine to increase the output power of the recovery system by focusing on the increase in the energy input and system efficiency. In doing so, it investigates the strategy of increasing the mean effective temperature of heat addition in the high-temperature Rankine cycle (HTRC) (t...

A steam Rankine cycle with two-stage pumping to enhance the waste heat recovery from internal combustion engines

In this research, a high-temperature Rankin cycle (HTRC) with two-stage pumping is presented and investigated. In this cycle, two different pressures and mass flow rates in the HTRC result in two advantages. First, the possibility of direct recovery from the engine block by working fluid of water, which is a low quality waste heat source, is created in a HTRC. Secondly, by doing this, the mean ...

Experimental Investigation of Thermal Balance and Valve Cover Heat Transfer in a Small Internal Combustion Engine

Heat transfer in internal combustion engines is one of the most significant topics. Heat transfer may take place through thermal conduction and thermal convection in spark ignition engines. In this study, valve cover heat transfer and thermal balance of an air-cooled engine are investigated experimentally. The thermal balance analysis is a useful method to determine energy distribution and effi...
